Rebuilt from the ground up, Hawaii.gov takes a dramatic shift away from traditional state government website design. Built for tablets and touch screens, the new Hawaii.gov focuses on only the content and services you need, nothing, more.
Taking a page from other touch driven interfaces, such as iOS, Android and Windows 8, Hawaii.gov immediately feels familiar and approachable. It's also fast, thanks to new underpinnings, built on Jekyll — a static site generator that does away with the traditional content management model in favor of static page generation. The result is a much faster, more secure website that can handle very high traffic.
Since launching in 2013, Hawaii.gov has garnered press coverage and won awards for it's bold new approach.
